Ruben proudly joined AMS-IX in 2021. With an academic degree in mathematics, he started his business career in media broadcast IT. He held several management positions at Technicolor and Ericsson, focussing on network and datacenter services. In 2016, Ruben decided to join the SURFnet executive management team, leading the network department. At SURFnet, the Dutch national research and education network, he was responsible for the development and automated deployment of SURFnet8, as well the innovation programme for network services.

Olena Lutsenko is the Managing Director of RETN Ukraine and Head of the Black Sea region, responsible for the commercial activity, business and network development in the whole region. After joining RETN in 2010 as a Sales Manager, her combined sales and technical skills allowed her to quickly work her way up to Commercial Director and on to Managing Director of RETN Ukraine. In 2021 she took on additional responsibility as Head of Black Sea region for RETN. Additionally, she is a member of the Association of Operators of the Telecommunication Chamber of Ukraine. Olena and other members of the Association are working on telecom legislation, including the new law about electronic communications in Ukraine.

Steven has over 25 years of experience in various parts of the Internet industry such as Network and Systems Operations, Network Architecture, Software Development, and Technical Pre-Sales. Bijal Sanghani

Bijal’s experience includes DNS management for DEMON Internet, Provisioning Engineer at Level 3, Senior Operations Engineer at FLAG Telecom and Reliance Globalcom where she was involved from the beginning to build the FLAG IP network. In 2011 Bijal moved from an operational role to the top management role at Euro-IX. Euro-IX is a non-profit membership association for Internet Exchange Points (IXPs). In her role she brings the members together to share ideas and experiences on technical, commercial and regulatory matters, and works on other IXP related projects such as the IXP{DB} (IXP Database) and support programs to help IXPs in need. Bijal has grown the membership by over 90% since she started in 2011. 

Bijal has been involved with the Peering and Interconnect Community since 2003, she’s been a RIPE NCC Services Working Group Co-chair since 2005 and served on the UKNOF Program Committee from 2006 until 2014. Bijal was elected on to the PeeringDB Board in 2017 where she currently serves as a Director.

Prior to this he was Managing Director, at Leaseweb CDN B.V. Based in Amsterdam, where he was responsible for the Content Services, including the Multi CDN and security solutions. And also he spend 7 years at CenturyLink (Level 3) as Director Content Solutions, where he was responsible for selling services such as Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), Website Acceleration, Media Delivery, in the EMEA region, and he also acted as a product specialist for these services.

Before that, he held several sales and channel development management roles at companies including Deutsche Telekom, Telia International Carrier and Limelight Networks, and over the years he gained market and product experience on CDNs and Internet infrastructure. He was also chairman of the Amsterdam Internet Exchange.

Kjetil Otter Olsen

Norwegian Internet eXchange

Kjetil has since the 1990s been running the Norwegian Internet eXchange,  and he has also worked with networking for the university of Oslo and the rest of the academic sector in Norway.  He is an active participant in Euro-IX and forums for internet operators. Since 1999 he has also assisted the Norwegian Parliament in the oversight of secret services, and is today the technical director for the team that supports this oversight.

Since then, he has been working in different segments related to the telco industry, from large ISPs and enterprises to international banking. Currently he is working in Nokia as a Senior Sales Engineer and since May 2018 has helped Webscale and IXP customers in the EMEA region to extend their network capacity.

He’s one of the authors of OpenWisp, an open-source system that has contributed to the development of public Wifi Services inside the Italian local public administration.He has been recognized by the European Union as an Expert in the field of Internet and Telecommunications.
