Connecting Europe’s Peering Community

 

The European Peering Forum (EPF) brings together the peering community to connect, collaborate, and grow. It provides a focused environment to establish new peering relationships, strengthen existing ones, and share knowledge across the ecosystem.

Organised annually by AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX, and Netnod, the next forum will take place in Paris, where we will welcome over 350 participants, including members of the organising exchanges, invited networks, and Internet Exchanges from the wider Euro-IX community.

Internet Society

Hanna Kreitem is the Director for Internet Technology and Development at the Internet Society. He focuses on peering infrastructure and shutdowns. Hanna holds a PhD in Media and Communication from Northumbria University in Newcastle, UK, where he studied Internet limitations and their impact on tangible outcomes of Internet use.

Jac Kloots

Jac Kloots is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Kentik with more than 25 years of experience in networking, spanning engineering, operations, network architecture and innovation. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of technical and leadership roles, contributing to the evolution of large-scale network infrastructures and working extensively with routing, peering, traffic engineering, network observability and Internet infrastructure.

Today, Jac works with Internet Service Providers and large enterprises to improve network visibility, performance and operational efficiency through modern observability technologies, helping operators turn complex network data into actionable insights that support better engineering and business decisions.

Reshma Das

HPE

Reshma Das is a Principal Engineer at HPE specializing in routing protocols, with a primary focus on BGP design and implementation. With over 15 years of experience in the networking industry, her career has spanned OSPF development, routing infrastructure engineering at Juniper Networks, BGP-EVPN at Brocade, and BGP development at both Juniper and HPE.

She is an editor of RFC 10005, BGP Link Bandwidth Extended Community (IETF Internet Standard, June 2026), which is the subject of this presentation, and a co-author of its companion use-cases document, draft-ietf-bess-ebgp-dmz, describing deployment scenarios and operational considerations for the community. She is also a major contributor to RFC 9832, BGP Classful Transport Planes (IETF Experimental, September 2025), where she is recognized as a co-author in the Contributors section.

An active participant in the IETF IDR and BESS working groups, Reshma brings the combined perspective of standards author, protocol implementer, and network practitioner to this presentation.
