Founded in 2000, MIX is the leading Internet Exchange Point in Italy. Thanks to highly efficient facilities, MIX improves the user experience of internet users by ensuring that traffic from and to Italian users stays within our borders. Situated in the Caldera Campus in Milan, MIX is one of the few Inter Exchange Points (IXPs) with its own data center, which hosts the networks of more than 205 internet operators – two thirds of which are Italian – with traffic peaks of over 465 Gbps. MIX data suites are home of 44 carriers, ensuring high capacities both nationally and internationally. This necessitates the presence of the most reliable infrastructure and platforms on the market, which MIX guarantees with the sort of accurate technological choices that have always defined the organisation. Since 2017, MIX is ISO 27001:2013 certified, an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard which covers logical and physical security of digital infrastructures and processes, and it’s the first Italian IXP reaching that goal and meeting the strict requirements of the ISO certification.
